The Southwest District of SHAPE America is dedicated to promoting school and community programs of Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance which embody such opportunities as self-realization and desirable human relationships and ensure the inclusion of programs within the best philosophical, social and educational contexts of American life.

Headquartered in Reston, VA, 25 miles west of Washington, DC, SHAPE America is the largest organization of professionals involved in school-based health, physical education and physical activity, who are dedicated to teaching and promoting active, healthy lifestyles. Founded in 1885, SHAPE America provides a comprehensive array of resources, leadership in the development of standards and guidelines, professional development and advocacy for its members as well as the general public.

SHAPE America's mission is to advance professional practice and promote research related to health and physical education, physical activity, dance, and sport.

2016 Hawaii PE Summit with Dr. Robert Pangrazi and Maria Corte

Calling all physical educators on Kauai, O'ahu, Maui, and the Big Island!  Please reserve the following dates to spend a day with one of the nation's leading PE educators, Dr. Robert Pangrazi.  Dr. Pangrazi is currently a professor with the Department of Exercise Science and Physical Education at Arizona State University, a multiple SHAPE America honoree for his many years of distinguished service to the profession, and the co-author of several books including the popular, "Dynamic Physical Education for Secondary Students."  

November 14 (Monday) on Maui at Baldwin High School-War Memorial Stadium

November 15 (Tuesday) on Kauai at Kapa'a High School

November 16 (Wednesday) on the Big Island at Kona's Kealakehe High School

November 17 (Thursday) on the Big Island at Hilo High School

November 18 (Friday) on O'ahu at Manoa Valley District Park
